Players In v Players Out
Sorry if this has been done already but who should we sell or get in during January. It is notoriously a difficult window to buy players. Looks like our board will have to dig deeper into their pockets than ever before as its the only way they will attract players to the club! There will be a few more high salaries on the wage structure! Assuming they can be bothered.

Never mind who we could sell, its who we could buy that may be a huge issue, like getting a new manager expect most will pass on the chance to join us, if you were a decent PL player would you join West Ham right now?

Add in what looks like a bit of disinterest from a good portion of our lot and maybe a toxic environment.

Would not surprise me if the few who may be attractive to other clubs don’t put in transfer requests to get a move.

Alex V... really??:
- Sakho is a given. I think we just take what we can get.

At the moment he is our best striker & changed the game coming on getting tne pen which should have got us back in it. Has done more is his minuted than AC all season. We need him until the summer!! BUT we needto play him!!

- Ogbonna I wonder if you could sell, but you might end up loaning back to Italy just to get him off the wage bill.

Suffered under Bilic- could easily find a buyer but who better could we get for the money when defensively short already??

- Obiang in a similar boat to Ogbonna. But what's he really worth in the market? Not a lot right now. Again I think a loan would be more likely.

One of best players until recently, now on a bad spell possibly as wants out?! Was talk of 18 mil not long ago & we were all saying sod off!!!

- Lanzini there will be a threat of a bigger club trying to grab him. If I was him would I want to stay?

Not sure HE has done enough to justify the hype so wouldn’t expect bids over 20 - and for that we get what, an AYEW ir ARNIE??!

I can see no other result than relegation and mass exidus in Summer, we have shown no fight nor creativity in a long while

Re: Players In v Players Out
I don’t really care who they sell, none of them have added anything positive to the season. As for who we bring in , that depends on who’s available and who would actually want to come to this basket case of a club.

I'd keep Sakho - Carroll will be inured again some time soon...oh, he is already!

Dont agree with that.

Wilshere is twice the player of any centre midfielder we have at the club. Naturally much better.

Are we allowed to recall Snodgrass ? He was awful under Bilic but he has done it before in the PL and if he's playing well for the Villa...

Re: Players In v Players Out
Other than Lanzini, Antonio and Hernandez, I couldn't give a shit who leaves.

Probably missed the boat on receiving decent money for a few of them.

Unless we've nicked a couple of wins before the window, I doubt any cunt who's decent will want to join.

Re: Players In v Players Out
Who the fuck will want to come here? Not anyone with any ambition.
Who the fuck will want any of our team and be willing to pay what the owners want and match the wages?
We pay dross top dollar and it will now bite us in the arse when we want to change the squad.

Re: Players In v Players Out
If Wilshere had joined us pre season he would be as undercooked as the rest of our squad still are. So no there would by now be posters on here calling his loan to us a waste of time and money.

Plenty on here laughed at the suggestion of bringing in Wilshere a couple of months ago.

Re: Players In v Players Out
The thing is that Wilshere is now making his way back into the Arsenal team. Should have made our move for him in the summer.

As long as they do no business with the Spuds

Re: Players In v Players Out
It seems blatantly obvious to me that the owners will only buy a couple of players in the upcoming window if Moyes looks like their coming in will sway the odds to survival. If we have lost touch by the time the transfer window opens I cannot see the owners saddling the club with a couple of expensive purchases that will draining our revenue budget in the Championship.

So it looks like several loan players coming in to me.

If you are looking at loan players there may be some who aren’t in their first teams and want to PRESS their World Cup claims

Jack Wilshere maybe?
Plus I’m not sure Lionel Messi played in Barca’s Cup game last night

I know some on here hate the idea, but imo the loan market is the best answer in January.

A pittance has just been redefined on here.

Re: Players In v Players Out
This is one of our problems now in that January is much harder to sign decent players unless you pay vastly inflated wages.
This is what happened last January I believe. Payet left (for a pittance I might add) and the replacement was Snodgrass on big wages and Ogbonna needed an op and we got Fonte on big wages.
This January it seems obvious we need new blood but which decent players would want to come to us for a relegation fight unless we offered big wages.
This in turn, of course, makes it harder to shift them on again if they're shit because of their high wages.

Trying to think realistically who might leave the club.

- Sakho is a given. I think we just take what we can get.
- Ogbonna I wonder if you could sell, but you might end up loaning back to Italy just to get him off the wage bill.
- Obiang in a similar boat to Ogbonna. But what's he really worth in the market? Not a lot right now. Again I think a loan would be more likely.
- Lanzini there will be a threat of a bigger club trying to grab him. If I was him would I want to stay?

I think those are the ones you can allow (or in Lanzini's case be resigned) to leave without leaving us so short we can't hope to recover. There are just a lot of players we are kind of stuck with and just have to hope they improve.

Regardless I think the most likely outcome is that Sullivan refuses to sell anyone. He's very much a proponent of 'stick don't twist' in the market.

Pay up both Carroll and Sakho's contract and release on a free.
